SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Eighteen Internally Displace (IDPs) families in northern Jawzjan province have been provided with shelters while others complained against deteriorated condition of their life and demanded the construction of shelters.
According to the Refugees Department, currently 150 IDP families lived on the Jawzjan-Faryab road in tents, they were migrated due to poverty, conflict and drought from the homes.
Refugees Department Director Amanullah Talha, told Pajhwok Afghan news every house has living room, a flour and a bathroom.
He said these families earlier lived in tents and faced a lot of problems.
Jora Guldi, one of the displaced people, hailed the Refugees Department step regarding the construction house for IDPs.
He asked the government to provide more support such as firewood, food items, clinics and schools.
He said: “We are a six-member family and I am the only bread earner of my family, most of the time I cannot find work and seek help for a piece of bread to purchase.”
Azizullah, another displaced person, said he was happy with the construction of shelters for IDPs and hoped that all displaced persons will get shelters.
Mohammad Hashim from the Dawlatabad district of Faryab province, has been living an IDP life from the past seven months on the Jawzjan-Faryab road.
He said: “"Winter is close, we have nowhere to go, we want the Islamic Emirate to build a shelter for us and solve our problems so that our children don't get sick."
Ali Murad, another displaced person, says: "I have been living under a tent for five years, we are a four member family, I work as a laborer, I can only provide bread for my family."”
He asked the government and aid providing organisations to build shelter for IDPs so they don’t face problems in the winter.
According to the Refugees Department a business man funded the construction of shelter for 18 IDPs.
The department said currently, 150 families lived under tents out of which 18 were provided with shelters. Eighty-six more will be provided with shelters with the support of the UNHCR.
