KABUL (Pajhwok): Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and an Iranian delegation have discussed bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the neighbours.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Muttaqi met the visiting Iranian delegation, headed by Yaqub Ali Nazari, the governor of Khurasan Razavi province.
In a statement, MoFA said both sides emphasised on the expansion of mutual cooperation in different fields.
Muttaqi told his interlocutors the security and illicit drug issues had been resolved and the ground had been paved for economic and commercial cooperation.
Muttaqi referred to cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran in political and economic fields and said IEA’s interaction with the world was in a state of progress.
Nazari expressed his sympathies with the victims of the earthquake in western Herat province and hailed his trip to Kabul as a success.
He added the creation of special working teams for improved coordination between the ministries of the two countries was a new step towards the expansion of cooperation.
