PUL-I-ALAM/ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people took part in protest demonstrations in Logar and Kunar provinces to condemn Israeli forces’ attacks on Palestinians.

After it suffered the deadliest attack in its history, Israel unleashed a relentless bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip.

With their number reaching one thousand, the protestors in Pul-i-Alam, Logar’s capital, shouted slogans “death to Israel and its allies and long live Islam and Palestine” and carried Palestinian flag with them.

The protesters expressed sympathy and solidarity with the Palestinians and supported the Palestinian struggle against Israel.

Rahmatullah, one of the organizers of the rally, told Pajhwok they organized the rally to sympathize with and support the Palestinians who had long been oppressed by Israel.

He said about one thousand people, including tribal elders, scholars, youth, teachers and ordinary citizens from Pul-i-Alam and districts attended the demonstration to voice support for Palestine.

He said they wanted to tell the Islamic world to support the Muslims of Palestine. He appealed to the United Nations and the international community to intervene and stop Israel’s aggression and attacks.

The surprise offensive by Hamas on Oct 7 left 1300 Israelis dead and in retaliation, Israel besieged Gaza Strip and launched a bombing campaign, so far killing 2450 Palestinians.

In eastern Kunar province, hundreds of people joined a protest rally against Israeli airstrikes on Palestine on Sunday morning in Asadabad, the provincial capital.

The protestors chanted slogans against Israel and America and called on the world community, especially Islamic countries, to stop the ongoing atrocities of Israel.

Raz Mohammad, an organizer of the protest, told Pajhwok that they organized the rally to voice support for Palestinians and condemn Israeli attacks.

He added: “The Muslims of the world should get united and declare jihad against Israel to liberate Palestine territories from them.”

Religious scholars, tribal elders, university professors, students, school children and common people took part in the rally that continued for about three hours and ended with issuing a resolution.

The resolution asked  the United Nations and human rights organizations to give the Palestinians their rights and stop Israeli aggression.
