2 women commit suicide, boy crushed to death in Faryab

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Two women have committed suicide in Qaisar and Garziwan districts and a boy died in a traffic accident in Andkhoi district of northern Faryab province, local officials said on Tuesday.

Information and Culture Department head Maulvi Shamsuddin Mohammadi told Pajhwok Afghan News that a woman named Hatgul hanged herself to death in a bathroom due to family problems at about 12:30 today in Arzlek village of Qaisar district.

Mohammadi quoted the woman’s father as saying her husband Khal Nazar had been arrested by security personnel for investigation.

A source on the condition of anonymity said that the 21-year-old woman got married 20 days ago and she said to be not happy.

Separately, another 18-year-old woman committed suicide in Garziwan district, the police headquarters said.

Amina took the extreme step in Yukhin village of Garziwan and the motive behind her suicide was said to be family problems. She killed herself by consuming acid.

Meanwhile, a 13-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a truck whiled riding a bicycle.

The victim was identified as Shukrullah, originally hailing from Qurghan district.
