Over 2,100 houses being built for Herat quake survivors

KABUL (Pajhwok): The construction of 2,146 houses for earthquake-affected people of Zinda Jan district has been initiated in western Herat province.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, wrote on his X handle the houses would be built to acceptable standard.

According to Mujahid, efforts are underway to build this township before the onset of winter.

In the last two weeks, more than 2,000 people, including children and women, have lost their lives and thousands have been injured in a series of earthquakes in Herat.
