SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): Some writers and poets in northern Sar-i-Pul province say they cannot publish their books because of economic problems and the government should help them in this regard.
Culturist Noor Ahmad Khadem Zada told Pajhwok Afghan News that he inherited an unpublished poetry book from his father and he himself could not afford to print it.
He asked the provincial Department of Information and Culture to help him in publishing the poetry book of his father.
“The government must help poets and culturists publish their books in order to further encourage them”.
Ghulam Mohammad, another writer, said: “I am writing a book about children literacy, but I cannot publish it because of economic problems, I ask the Information and Culture department to help me and publish my book.”
“My book is very important for the children, if the Information and Culture department publishes it, it can benefit the children nationwide,” he said.
Information and Culture director Abdul Malik Baluch said his department was printing books of poets and writers for free. “Writers must contact the department of Information and Culture for support”.
He said his department was home to all culturists, poets and writers and its arms were open for them.
