Kazakhstan delivers1,662 tonnes aid for Herat earthquake victims

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Humanitarian aid for earthquake victims from Kazakhstan handed over to Afghan officials at Hairatan Port in northern Balkh province on Saturday, an official said.

Balkh Deputy Governor Noorul Hadi Abu Edress welcomed Kazakhistan’s aid and asked other countries to provide aid to earthquake victims of Herat province.

Kazakhstan Consul General Meram Awshkhamov said: “The 1,662 tonnes of aid included flour, cooking oil, rice, blanket and beds.”

He said earlier, Kazakhstan dispatched a 45-member health care team which present in the province.

This comes that Iran, Tajikistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and some other countries had already dispatch humanitarian aid for the earthquake victims.
