GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Customs officials have seized 400 pachkets of banned firecrackers brought from Pakistan in southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Tuesday.
Customs Deputy Director Javed Haqyar told Pajhwok Afghan News that customs inspectors seized 400 packets of banned firecrackers and each packet contained 100 pieces.
He said the crackers were skillfully hidden in a vehicle and had been brought from Pakistan. He said firecrackers were banned in the country.
One person was arrested in connection with the seizure and he was currently being investigated.
