10 ancient sites identified in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): In a fresh discovery, the Information and Culture Department has identified 10 historical sites in northern Sar-i-Pul province.

Information Director Mullah Abdul Ghaffar Haqnoma told Pajhwok Afghan News the 10 new sites, which have a history of hundreds of years, had been found in Kohistanat district.

He said district officials had been instructed to prevent illegal digging in the areas. After a detailed assessment, the sites will be included in the Ministry of Information and Culture’s database.

According to the department, the newly identified areas area Shahrbano Qala, Khwaja Buland shrine, Khwaja Muqam shrine, the Valley of Sargan, Kashk-i-Salrizi, Ghal Burhan and the Valley of Kafi Qala.
