KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says Australia has announced an additional more than one million Australian dollars ($631,280) in aid for earthquake survivors in western Herat province.
On its X page, OCHA wrote lifesaving humanitarian response would be provided to those affected by the devastating earthquakes.
Since 2014, Australia has contributed 70 Australian dollars ($44 million) to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
Several consecutive earthquakes played havoc in Herat last month, completely destroying 12 villages.
Many countries, organizations, charities, businessmen, national playersand the caretaker government have provided millions of cash donations in addition to food aid to the victims of the earthquake.
