Doctor freed, 3 kidnappers killed in Herat operation

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces have freed a doctor and killed three of his kidnappers in the Guzra district of western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.

Nesar Ahmad Elyas, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Dr Rifatullah Rafi was released during a special operation in the Siawashan area of the district on Friday night.

He said three kidnappers were killed and two others captured alive in the overright raid. Dr. Rafi had been kidnapped four days ago.
