PMAP slams Pakistan’s decision to deport Afghans

ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Pakistan Milli Awami Party (PMAP) lawmaker Khushal Khan Kakar has strongly condemned Pakistan’s decision to expel undocumented Afghan refugees.

The senator, son of renowned political figure Usman Kakar, asked the Pakistan prime minister not to behave like Shah Shuja, who proclaimed himself as King of Afghanistan in 1801 after the deposition of his brother Zaman Shah.

Addressing a large public gathering in Quetta, the PMAP leader slammed the caretaker Pakistani government’s decision to deport 1.4 million illegal Afghan refugees.

Islamabad’s deadline for all undocumented aliens, mostly Afghan citizens, to leave the country or face forced deportations expired today.

He hit out at the caretaker government and Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar and told him not to behave like Shah Shuja.

He says: "I ask the Pashtun prime minister to end his enmity with Afghans and think about the direction n he is moving in.

“If you have courage, shut the Wagah border (with India). We share land and history with Pashtuns across the Durand Line,” the legislator commented.
