BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): More than 20 foreign tourists who recently visited central Bamyan province were satisfied with security, but they called for more services to tourists.

Bamyan Information and Culture Department director Din Muhammad Mofleh told Pajhwok Afghan News 23 foreign tourists arrived in Bamyan and visited historic and ancient sites.

He said last month about 160 tourists arrived in Bamyan and they were provided services including interpreters and accommodation.

Hundreds of natural and historical attractions including eight ancient sites registered with UNESCO exist in Bamyan.

Jose Eulogio Alonso from Spain said Bamyan tourist attractions captivated everyone.

He said he visited Bamyan province to see ancient sites and tourist attractions. He said tourists should be provided services, including transport, accommodation, garbage bins and toilets at sightseeing places.

Ermilova Natalia from France said security was ensured and foreign tourists could fearlessly visit the province.

She praised the hospitality of local residents, local food and attention of officials to ensure the safety of tourists. She said she would want to visit Afghanistan again.
