Weapons, ammunition cache seized in Uruzgan

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Security forces have seized a large cache of weapons and ammunition in Tirinkot, the capital of central Uruzgan province, police said on Thursday.

Police spokesman Bilal Uruzgani said the weapons and ammunition were confiscated during a raid on a house in Tora area on Wednesday.

Uruzgani said the cache consisted of five hand-grenades, one machinegun, one stand gun, one rocket launcher, several arms and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Two persons were also arrested in connection with the seizure and they were currently being investigated, he said.
