Over 12,000 more Afghans return from Pakistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 12,000 Afghan refugees have returned to the country from Pakistan in the past two days, says the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR).

On its X handle, MoRR wrote that 12,675 Afghan refugees returned to the country on Thursday and Friday.

Based on information from the Border Affairs Department, 1,552 families, or 9,040 people, returned via the Spin Boldak crossing.

About 15 Afghans inmates, released from Pakistani jails, also came back to the country.

The Refugee Affairs Department in Nangarhar, meanwhile, said in the past two days 669 families, or 3,539 individuals, returned home via Torkham.

The MoRR said another 81 Afghans returned to their homeland via Bahramcha district of southern Helmand province.
