ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi has met Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani on the problems of Afghan refugees and traders.
The Afghan embassy in Islamabad wrote on its X handle late on Monday night the two sides discussed bilateral relations, holding of Afghan goods at the Karachi port, transfer of refugees’ properties to their country and other issues.
At the meeting, whose details were not released by the government in Islamabad, Jilani reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to mutually beneficial ties with Afghanistan.
Earlier, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said in a statement a high-level delegation led by Azizi had arrived in Islamabad to participate in a tripartite meeting among Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
It said facilities and development in the fields of trade, transit and investment would be discussed by the participants.
Representatives of finance, transport and aviation and foreign affairs ministries were included in the delegation.
The problems and issues of transit of Afghanistan goods and APTA agreement were discussed at a bilateral meeting with Pakistan.
