PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): The Department of Information and Culture in northern Baghlan province says 80 various types of birds have been released back into their natural habitat.

Maulvi Ezat Mir Haqqani, head of tourism in the province, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 80 valuable birds had been seized from hunters, were freed back to the wild late on Monday.

He said small falcons, gray birds, puffins and some other birds, were among these birds which their hunting was prohibited.

According to him, 30 individuals have been arrested in connection with illegal hunting.

Meanwhile, Maulvi Izatullah Qutbia, administrative chief for Dehna Ghori district, said that the security forces had detained several individuals for hunting valuable birds in mountains.

Qutbia said different types of valuable birds which had been seized from hunters, released back to the wild by the officials of the Environmental Protection Agency.
