Germany’s latest contribution highlighted its continued commitment to alleviating the hardships in Afghanistan, said a statement from OCHA.

Since the inception of the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund, the European nation has poured over 210 million euros in aid into the country.

The funding aims to mitigate the immediate needs of the people suffering in Afghanistan, according to the statement.

Earlier, OCHA had said 28.3 million people in Afghanistan needed humanitarian aid in the current year, and 4.6 billion dollars are needed for humanitarian aid to Afghans.
