KABUL (Pajhwok): A Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) delegation headed by deputy minister Maulvi Sadri Azam Osmani has left for Uzbekistan to meet their counterparts on strengthening coordination in agriculture and livestock sectors.
MAIL wrote on its X handle the aim of the visit was to strengthen relations and coordination between investors in agriculture and livestock sectors and to expand cooperation between the two countries.
During their visit, the delegates will meet officials of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Irrigation and discuss expanding cooperation in areas of improving wheat and cotton seeds, rice cultivation, promotion of drip irrigation, development of horticulture, improvement of employees’ capacity, investing in drylands of Afghanistan and other sectors and exchange opinions.
“They are also expected to sign memoranda of cooperation,” the ministry said.
This is a follow up trip after Uzbekistan’s Vice President’s visit to Afghanistan.
