1 killed, 5 wounded in Badakhshan traffic accident

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): One person was killed and five others wounded as a result of a traffic accident in northeastern Badakhshan province on Saturday morning, an official said.

Maulvi Fazlullah Hanif, administrative chief for Shahr-i-Bozurg, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place in Kotal-i-Sanda area of the district at around 8:00am in the morning.

He said the accident occurred after a pick up veered off the road and plunged into a valley as a result of technical faults.

He added one person lost his life and five others were injured in the accident. The injured were evacuated to the provincial hospital for treatment with three of them in critical condition.
