Ireland pledges 500,000 euros in aid to Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says Ireland has contributed 500,000 euros in aid to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF) for 2023.

OCHA wrote on its X handle with the new contribution, Ireland had contributed €6.5 million to AHF since 2020.

Five days ago, OCHA had received a contribution of five million euros from Germany to life-saving assistance efforts in Afghanistan.

Earlier, OCHA had said 28.3 million people in Afghanistan needed 4.6 billion dollars in humanitarian aid in the current year.
