CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): In a first, vocational training classes have been launched for 21 imprisoned teenage children in central Parwan province.
Provincial police officials in a ceremony held for this purpose said that the six-month training classes were created by the Department of Labor and Social Affairs for prisoners who are under the age of 18.
Police spokesman Abdul Rahim Muskinyar said that currently 21 children were being taught mobile phone repair in two classes by two experienced teachers.
“In addition to vocational training, religious, literacy lessons are also taught for these children,” he added.
Mufti Mohammad Idris Anwari, deputy governor, welcomed the launch of this vocational program and said that prisoners needed reform and education.
