ATLANTA (Pajhwok): At least six people have been killed and 16 others wounded in separate traffic accidents in northeastern Badakhshan, western Faryab and central Daikundi provinces, officials said on Monday.
Maulvi Ahmad Shah, administrative chief for Faryab’s Balcharagh district, told Pajhwok Afghan News a passenger vehicle veered of the road and flipped over in Qazalkot area on Sunday morning.
He said four people were killed and six others wounded in the incident.
Dr. Hasibullah, district clinic chief, confirmed receiving the injured, who were referred to the main provincial hospital after being administered first aid.
Separately, two people were killed and seven others injured as a result of traffic accident in Daikundi province.
Police spokesman Ghulam Ali told Pajhwok the accident took place when a flying coach carrying wedding guests veered of the road and overturned.
He said two people were killed and seven others, including women and children, injured.
Two people lost their lives and one was injured as a result of a traffic accident in Raghistan district of Badakhshan province.
Recently, traffic accidents have increased in the country. According to Pajhwok reports, about 4,000 people have been killed and injured in accidents during the current solar year so far.
