KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Some Chinese businessmen have shown interest in starting pomegranates export to China from southern Kandahar province, a statement said on Monday.
A statement from the Kandahar Chamber of Commerce said Chinese businessmen made the pledge during a meeting with the head and other officials of the Chamber of Commerce.
Chinese businessmen had planned the export of pomegranates from Kandahar.
They also wanted to know that which commodities Chines need the most to export from Afghanistan.
During the meeting they pledged to encourage other Chinese businessmen to invest in Kandahar and other provinces and promote trade relationships between the two countries.
Officials of the Chambers of Commerce said that trade relationship between China and Afghanistan could have positive impact on economic relationship of the two countries.
Earlier, also some Chinese businessmen had travelled to Kandahar province and pledged investment in Kandahar but so far no pledge had been materialized.
