Maidan Wardak volleyball championship kicks off

MAIDANSHAR (Pajhwok): Volleyball tournament between 18 teams from five provinces started in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Monday.

Zabihullah Wahaj, deputy head of the Sport and Physical Training, told Pajhwok Afghan News volleyball championship between 18 teams from Maidan Wardak, Logar, Bamyan, Kabul and Baghlan provinces.

He said the championship will last for one week and at the end the best team would be honored and given cash prize.

Ikramullah, one of the players, said he was happy for the start of the championship but complained against proper infrastructure for volleyball.

He demanded the construction of up to the standard volleyball ground.
