11th Herat Security Dialogue begins in Tajikistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The 11^th Herat Security Dialogue has got under way in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

The event -- Reimagining Afghanistan; the Way Forward -- is

Dadfar Spanta and other officials of the previous government were presented in the meeting. being attended by political figures, human right activists and representatives of regional countries.

Politicians, including National Resistance Front (NRF) leader Ahmad Massoud, jihadi figure Ismail Khan, former national security advisor Rangin Dadfar Spanta, who has also served as foreign minister, called for global cooperation on improving the situation in Afghanistan.

The Herat Security Meeting, held annually since 2012, has been focused on political and security issues related to Afghanistan.

Pajhwok tried to contact IEA officials for comments on the two-day gathering which concludes today (Tuesday), but failed.
