FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): In the past eight months 75 people, including children and women, were killed and 197 others injured as a result of 116 traffic accidents in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Tuesday.
Traffic Department Director Mawlavi Gul Ahmad Shakir told Pajhwok Afghan News these accidents occurred in the districts and provincial capital Faizabad.
He said in Hamal 15 traffic accidents, in Sawar 15, in Jawza 20, in Saratan 11, in Asad 17 in Sonbullah 12, in Mizan 18 ad in Aqrab 18 accident took place. As result of these accidents 75 people were killed and 197 others injured.
He added these accidents occurred in Kisham, Ragh, Arghanjwa, Zebak, Baharak, Yamgan, Warduj and Faizabad City. The main causes of the accidents were speedy driving, dilapidated road conditions and technical flaws in vehicles.
