Afghan embassy in New Delhi to resume functioning soon

KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Foreign Minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai says they are in contact with the Afghan embassy in India and the diplomatic mission will resume functioning in next three days.

On Nov. 24, the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi announced its permanent closure.

Stanikzai told state-run Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA) that the Afghan Embassy in India was in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Afghan consulates in Mumbai and Hyderabad were also functional.

He rejected an Afghan diplomat Naeemi’s claim as false that the Afghan Embassy in India had been permanently closed.

He added Afghan consul generals in Mumbai and Hyderabad had reopened the embassy in New Delhi and the mission would resume its activities in the next two or three days.
