SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): A national businessman in the Sancharak district of northern Sar-i-Pul province has built a primary school building at his personal cost, an official said on Saturday.

Mawlavi Mohammad Rahmani, head of the Education Department, in the inauguration of the ceremony said it was cherishing that Syed Shah Hussaini, one of the local businessmen helped built a school in the Charoh village.

He said the building has nine class rooms, one administrative room, one security guard room, washroom, toilet and retaining wall.

Mawlavi Rahmani said: “The school is named Fatima Zahra School, its work completed in six months and cost $100,000.”

Earlier, the students studied in the open or in tents which was a huge challenge. The school is constructed in 1,200 square metres area and the land was also provided by the businessman.

Mohammad, the resident of Charoh village, said: “I am very happy that a school had been constructed in our village, earlier our children studied in tents or in the mosque, they faced difficulties during winter and summer.”

Ali, another local resident, asked businessmen to implement public welfare schemes in the province.

In Sar-i-Pul 311 state run schools existed out of which 31are without school building and 69 more schools had rented houses or continue their studies in mosques.
