KABUL (Pajhwok): Kyrgyzstan’s businesspeople have evinced a keen interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mining sector, urging the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) to provide them the requisite facilities.
Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Sheikh Shahabuddin Dilawar met Kyrgyzstan businessmen at his office on Sunday, MoMP wrote on its X handle.
The visiting businessmen showed their keenness on investing in coal and other mines in Afghanistan and asked MoMP for facilities in this regard.
Delawar was quoted as saying: “We welcome all foreign capitalists to invest in different sectors in Afghanistan.”
Dilawar assured the businessmen of all possible cooperation in providing investment facilities, the statement added.
Earlier, officials of MoMP had announced signing contracts for the development of108 small and five large mines with the private sectors in 16 provinces of the country during the current solar year.
