Seeratul Nabi book reading contest held in Bamyan

BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): A mammoth Seeratul Nabi — the character of Prophet (PBUH) — competition has been held in central Bamyan province in which over 800 people have participated.

Safiullah Raed, head of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department linked holding this competition to introduce youth with the live and character of the Prophet (PBUH) and said through this way youth could better learn and get familiar with the life and character of the Prophet (PBUH).

He said over 800 participants, including women participated in the competition. Prizes such as computer, telephone, bicycle and cash had been considered to the given to the winners.

Meanwhile, participants of the competition said such programmes were beneficial for youth and helpful in increasing youth interest in books reading.

Khadeja Elham, one of the participants, said competition like this promote the culture of research and study among youth and help increase their capacities.
