HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Officials say 10 foreign tourists who arrived in western Herat province visited historical places and they were provided with all necessary facilities.
Maulvi Rahmatullah Mohammadi, director of tourism at the provincial Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 10 visitors from Greece, China, India, America, Canada, England and Spain visited Herat’s tourist attractions.
Mohammadi added secure environment, the existence of tourist and historical attractions in Herat attracted many foreign and domestic tourists.
He said some facilities such as interpreters and guide books about historical places and destinations were provided to the foreign visitors.
The tourists said culture, art and beauty of Afghanistan fascinated them and they plan to visit other parts of Afghanistan in future.
According to officials, during the past one month, more than a hundred foreign tourists arrived in Herat to visit historical places.
