KABUL (Pajhwok): Supreme Court has approved punishment for convicted forgers on the bases of which individual committing forgery will be handed over punishment from six months up to seven years.
The approved punishment document said that people commitment fraud with the orders of the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) leadership, acting prime minister, ministers, SC high council or the institution to which these portfolios are associated will be handed over five years imprisonment.
According to the procedure, if the perpetrator of the above crimes commits the said crime repeatedly and the repetition is proven, or if the perpetrator of the above crimes is an official employee of the above institutions, his imprisonment should be increased by two years.
A person who forges the letters, signatures and seals of the deputy ministers, cabinet ministers, heads of major departments, provincial governors and police commanders should be sentenced to three years in prison.
The person who forged the signatures and seals of the letters of the deputy heads of the ministries, the heads of the departments related to the Supreme Court, the deputy heads of the major departments should be sentenced to two years in prison The person who forges the letters, signatures and seals of the orders of heads of the departments of all other bodies, the district governors and the security commanders should be sentenced to one year in prison.
Forgery in all documents related to courts (such as Sharia Kabbalah, etc…) shall be imprisoned for three years, and forgery in all non-governmental organizations, private and private companies, educational institutions and other non-governmental documents shall be imprisoned for six months.
