Afghans involved in politicking deported: Pakistan

ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Ten Afghan citizens have been deported for involvement in political activities, Pakistan’s caretaker interior minister says.

Sarfraz Bugti on told reporters on Friday foreign nationals residing in Pakistan were not allowed to participate in political activities.

Authorities expelled the 10 Afghans with legal documents for staying in that country due to their involvement in political activities, Bugti added.

Bugti did not provide detail of the political activities of the evicted Afghans.

According to Bugti, Pakistan is currently in the first phase of the eviction of undocumented Afghan refugees.

Nearly half a million Afghans, who did not have legal documents, had been expelled from Pakistan over the past two months and a half, the minister explained.

The government of Pakistan, which launched nationwide crackdown on undocumented aliens on November 1, has so far evicted about 450,000 Afghans.
