Gang of child thieves arrested in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A 10-member gang of thieving children has been arrested in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Sunday.

The gang had been under surveillance by security forces for a long time and the detainees had confessed to their crimes, police spokesman Abdul Basir Zabuli told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the gang of child criminals was arrested in the first police district.

Currently  being interrogated, he said, the children were involved in thefts in the provincial capital.

They would be referred to relavant authorites after investigation.

The police sent a video clip of the children to Pajhwok Afghan News, in which they can be seen confessing to their crimes.
