Ghor residents construct mosque at own expenses

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The residents of Chaharsada district in western Ghor province have built a mosque at their own expenses, local officials say.

The construction of the grand mosque consumed over three million afghanis, the officials say.

Information and Culture director Maulvi Mohammad Hamas during the inauguration ceremony of the mosque said the residents of Bardiz, Rigan, Rog and Taghmin villages initiated the mosque’s construction at their own expense at the beginning of this year.

The overall construction works of the mosque took nine months, he added.

The Grand Mosque (Jami Masjid) has the capacity to accommodate 1000 worshipers and it cost over three million afs.

The residents of the district also intend to build a seminary.

The seminary to be name named Miftahul Ulom will have the capacity for 100 students.
