Right hand drive cars: Sticker plates’ issuance period ends

KABUL (Pajhwok): The period to obtain sticker-number-plates for right hand drive cars has expired, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.

“The Ministry of Interior (MoI) informs owners of all those vehicles who have obtained paper-sticky-number plates for their vehicles in the past that its time has expired and they need to visit the Traffic Police Department to get permanent number plates instead,” the ministry wrote on social media platform X.

The MoI Traffic Department in a statement asked owners of such vehicles to obtain permanent number plates for their vehicles within one month or face legal consequences. After the one month period, owners of right hand drive vehicles will have no right to complain.

To maintain public order, ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent criminal incidents, the General Directorate of Traffic Police has launched the process of registering one-key (unregistered) vehicles and issuance of temporary documents for such vehicles about eight months ago.
