HR reports should reflect realities, agree Shaheen & Bennett

KABUL (Pajhwok): The head of the Islamic Emirate’s political office in Doha says human rights reports should reflect ground realities in Afghanistan.

Suhail Shaheen wrote on his X handle: “Today, I met Mr. R. Bennett, UN special rapporteur on human rights in Afghanistan.”

“We both maintained human rights reports should reflect ground realities in Afghanistan and be impartial. I gave him updates on steps taken … for welfare of widows, orphans & disabled,” he added.

On Monday, Shaheen met the head of the deputy chief of UNAMA Markus Potzel on the current situation in Afghanistan.
