ATLATNA (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir has resumed his duties after several months of illness.
The Presidential Palace said the deputy primer had returned to work after regaining his health and met with a number of officials.
Initially, Kabir first rested at home before being hospitalised, following improvement in his health, he returned to his office in the presence of some cabinet colleagues and officials of the Islamic Emirate.
Maulvi Kabir said after undergoing treatment, his health had improved and doctors had allowed him to resume his duties.
He noted during his absence thousands of people had been killed in a series of earthquakes in western Herat province and Pakistan had launched a crackdown on Afghan refugees.
The deputy premier said he had been in contact with officials on relief for affected citizens and thanked them for providing all possible help.
He appreciated all countrymen and businessmen for assisting the earthquake-affected people and refugees returning from Pakistan.
He promised the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) would continue providing necessary services to all needy people.
