KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Railway Authority (ARA) head for western Herat province says the transportation of commercial goods through Herat-Khwaf railroad will begin in near future.
Mufti Mohammad Naseem Mohammadi made the statement at a meeting with officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment and traders of the province on Friday.
The Information and Culture Department quoted him as saying the Herat-Khwaf railroad was ready for train operations between Iran and Herat and there was no technical problem in this way.
Meanwhile, Chamber of Commerce and Investment officials, local businessmen and investors welcomed support from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) for investments.
At the same time, they asked the government to provide transportation facilities for trucks plying between Bandar Abbas and Rozang.
Mohammadi assured traders in the western zone that the ARA was committed to providing the all possible facilities.
