KABUL (Pajhwok): Chinese Special Envoy for Afghanistan Yue Xiaoyong has said that his country respected Afghanistan's sovereignty and will never interfere in Kabul's internal affairs, according to a statement on Monday.
Beijing’s point man called on IEA-Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi the ministry’s spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi wrote on his Twitter handle.
Yue said that China has exempted tariff on majority goods imported from Afghanistan as to promote trade growth between the two countries,
He added the two sides stressed on expanding relations, increasing trade and further cooperation in political domains.
In this meeting, comprehensive talks was held regarding recent progress in bilateral relations, in particular the participation of IEA-Foreign Minister in Trans-Himalaya Forum, meeting of the two foreign ministers, commencement of work by IEA-Ambassador in Beijing & China's investments in Afghanistan.
Calling the acceptance of IEA-Ambassador in Beijing a significant development, FM Muttaqi commended China's positive position in international forums. Moreover, FM Muttaqi stressed on the practical work of Aynak copper project and assuring readiness of relevant departments thereof, adding that both sides should work on ways to increase Afghan exports to China.
