KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): A well-equipped laboratory is being built at a cost of 1.3 million dollars at the regional hospital in northern Kunduz province, an official said on Thursday.
Public Health Director Dr. Mohammadullah told the inaugural ceremony problems of northern zone residents would be resolved with the activation of the facility.
Funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the project would take three months to complete, the official said.
He called the laboratory an important addition to the regional hospital and asked aid organisations to support the Kunduz health sector.
Maulvi Abdul Ghafoor Shahidzoi, chief of staff to the governor, appreciated the UNDP gesture and urged other partners to help provide health services in this province.
