KABUL (Pajhwok): After some basic repairs, the second turbine at the Naghlu Hydropower Dam has been re-activated and its power connected the supply network, Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) said on Saturday.
DABS, without providing details, announced the development on its X page.
It comes amid complaints from Kabul city residents about prolonged power outages since a month.
DABS officials have assured of resolving the problem by connecting a 500KV power line from Dasht-i-Alwan area of Pul-i-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province, with the Arghandi power station of Kabul province.
Work on the Dasht-i-Alwan-Arghandi power project was launched two days ago.
