HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work has been launched on a 64-metre road and culvertsat a cost of nine million afghani in western Herat province, says an official.
Mohammad Javed Mayar, an official of the municipality, told the inaugural ceremony ceremony on Monday the 470 metres long and 15 metres wide road in the fifth district was being built at a cost of nine million afghanis.
He said the cost of the road would be paid by the governor’s house. The project will take three months to complete.
Fifth district resident, meanwhile, voiced pleasure over the road’s construction, hoping the problems currently being faced by locals would be resolved.
Sediq Ahmad Afghan, an area inhabitant, asked the government to support them in different areas, including Infrastructure services.
Two days back, construction work on a road was launched at a cost of 6.5 million afghanis in the eighth police district of the city.
