KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Development Bank has allocated $24.6 million in aid to Afghanistan by signing several project contracts with aid providing organizations.
The IDB announced the funding in a series on tweets on its official handle.
IDB humanitarian Trust Fund in collaboration with the Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has launched a $1.1 million project to boost food security in Afghanistan.
The funding will Focusing on Badakhshan, Faryab, and Ghazni, The project aims to support 6,250 households, underscoring the IDB commitment to fostering resilience and sustainable growth.
Seperately, the IsDB-managed Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund and @WHO have established a crucial $1.5 million partnership to improve maternal and child healthcare in rural #Afghanistan.
This initiative is expected to reach over 134,000 individuals, emphasizing the #IsDB's dedication to enhancing health services and community well-being.
In a ntoehr Tweet the IDB said: “In a landmark move, the #IsDB-managed Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund and @UNICEF have committed to two projects, totaling $8 million, with AHTF and UNICEF each contributing $4 million.” It added the initiatives focus on enhancing access to Safe water and Health services in #Afghanistan. This strategic partnership, set to benefit over 200,000 individuals, showcases a strong commitment to humanitarian aid and sustainable development.“
