PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The Education Department of central Logar province has received stationary items worth 19 million afghanis from the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF), an official said on Monday.
Education Department spokesperson Shapur Arab told Pajhwok Afghan News that the aid included 299kg of equipment for teachers, 2735kg of teaching materials for students, 62kg of sports equipment and 262 kg of school technical equipment.
Arab said these items would be sent to provincial education authorities in one week and would be distributed to 276 students and teachers in new 1403 solar year.
He added that the Ministry of Education had provided more than 300,000 books to solve their shortage in Logar and the books would be distributed to students from class 1 to 12 in the new academic year.
Mohammad Akbar, a student of Hesarak School in the provincial capital, told Pajhwok the distribution textbooks would resolve their shortage in some schools.
He asked the Ministry of Education to solve problems like lack of school buildings and books in all districts of Logar.
