5 unlicensed clinics, 14 pharmacies closed in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Authorities have sealed five undocumented doctors’ clinics and 14 pharmacies in northern Baghlan province while enforcing health laws.

Abdullah Malang, Baghlan public health department spokesman, told Pajhwok on Tuesday their department had launched a campaign to prevent unlicensed clinics and pharmacies from operating in Pul–i-Khumri city since Saturday.

He said three dental clinics and two gynecology clinics that lacked licenses were closed and 14 pharmacies that sold low-quality and outdated drugs without having license were also closed.

The campaign has been started by a joint commission to implement health laws. The commission comprises representatives from the public health and intelligence departments, police headquarters and others.
