KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul province governor Aminullah Obaid has urged Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) leadership to pay attention to resolving the issue of drinking water shortage in the central capital and create employment opportunities to youth through implementation of mega projects.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Acting Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the presidential palace wrote on its X handle.
Obaid said security officials were making efforts to provide facilities and better services to the citizens in coordination with the municipality.
He asked the IEA leadership to resolve the problem of drinking water shortage in Kabul and create jobs for the youth through implementation of big projects.
For his part, Hanafi said the local authorities of IEA were obliged to ensure security and work for social welfare.
He said the IEA leadership was making efforts to create employment opportunities, resolve the problem of potable water of Kabul citizens and implement development schemes.
Drought has increased in the country in recent years and people in provinces, including Kabul city, are facing water scarcity.
