MEHTARLAM/FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Five people have been killed, and four others injured in two separate traffic accidents in eastern Laghman and northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said on Thursday.
Badakhshan police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place in the Laghayer area of Shahr-e-Buzorg district.
He said the accident occurred when a car which was parked on the side of the road got off on its own and flipped over, which resulted in the killing of three women and two children.
In Laghman, four people, including a woman, were wounded when two cars collided in the Kakach area of Qarghaio district of Kabul-Nangarhar highway on Wednesday, said Younis Yusufzai, police spokesman.
The injured were evacuated to Nangarhar provincial hospital for treatment, he added.
