KABUL (Pajhwok): About 89 Afghan nationals have been released from jails in Pakistan’s Sindh province, says the Afghan Consulate in Karachi.
Sayed Abdul Jabbar Takhari, the Consul General in Karachi, said in a video clip that that 89 Afghans were released as a result of efforts of the consulate and returned to the country via Chaman crossing.
He said the number of Afghan prisoners released from Sindh province reached 3,142.
The consulate wrote on X that 279 Afghans are still in Sindh prisons and efforts are underway to secure their release.
